Pesto pasta recipe, the popular and delicious dish from Genoa

This recipe pasta pesto is specially delicious with trofie or trenette, as is typically served in Liguria. It combines very well with other types of pasta, or even as linguine noodles, lasagne and tagliolini.

This recipe pasta pesto has its origins in the region Liguria coast north-west of Italy, where trofie or trenette with pesto is a traditional holiday dish.

Serves 4

Pasta 1 lb (450) pasta trofie or trenette lacks, replace with linguine pasta.The second alternative is noodles, lasagne or medium tagliolini1 potatoes peeled and diced1/2 pound (200 g) Green string beans 2 tablespoons salt
Sauce pesto 3 large twigs Basil 1 tablespoon pinoli 2 cloves d ' garlic pinch salt 2 tablespoons cheese freshly grated Sardinian or romano2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan perfectionism parmigiano-reggiano 1 cup extra-virgin olive oil

Preparation time: 15 minutes
